The authorities of the country declared that they won't prolong the new contract with the Russian company, and instead will connect the gas system to the Romanian. According to experts, Chisinau tries to avoid the transit risks connected with construction of "The Turkish stream" of the Photo: DPA/TASS the Government of Moldova has decided not to sign the new contract with the Russian gas corporation "Gazprom". Writes Interfax about it. The Minister of Economics of the country Kirill Gaburich has said that at the end of August construction of the gas pipeline Chisinau — Ungena will begin. It has to be built within ten months and will connect the Moldavian gas system with Romanian. It will allow to arrange alternative deliveries of gas, respectively, there will be a competition, and suppliers will offer the best prices. Moldova in vain stakes on Romania, the leading analyst of National Energy Security Fund Igor Yushkov considers. Only for the last half a year Chisinau has bought more than 1,5 billion cubes of gas from Gazprom, and following the results of the current year this figure can exceed 3 billion. Where Moldova will find such amount of gas in the alternative markets, not clearly. Besides when purchasing gas at traders the overpayment will average about 20 dollars for each one thousand cubic meters. In the winter at deficiency of gas it is even more — 50-70 dollars. Igor Yushkov is the leading analyst of National Energy Security Fund "Actually, here it is difficult to say that in Romania they will be able to receive some large volumes of gas, Romania extracts about 10 billion cubes and consumes them. From where they will take additional volumes, absolutely unclear. They aren't exporters. It will be very difficult to Moldova to find there some volumes because too it is necessary to Romanians from where to import this gas. Other question: if, for example, this gas comes from "The Turkish stream" from Russia to Turkey, and is farther to Bulgaria where it will be possible to use the Transbalkan gas pipeline. He, respectively, can be started in the opposite direction. The Russian gas will come to Romania. Perhaps, it will be on sale to trading structures which will begin to deliver the Russian gas to Moldova. Absolutely we see the same story with gas supply of Ukraine which consumes exclusively Russian gas, buying it from intermediaries". The refusal to renew the contract with Gazprom — the certificate that Moldova tries to avoid the transit risks connected, first of all, with construction of "The Turkish stream" is sure the director of the power direction of Institute of power and finance Alexey Gromov:aleksey of Thunders director of the power direction of Institute of power and finance "Here the situation is rather obvious to me. The matter is that Russia purposefully pursues policy on leaving from the Ukrainian transit, and Moldova just receives gas in transit via the Ukrainian gas transmission system. Otherwise she can simply not receive gas. Moreover, she receives gas just along the southern corridor of the Ukrainian transit along which we deliver gas to Turkey
