As told the Kommersant newspaper the sources familiar with an initiative, the state company plans to pass to direct purchases in 2019. If it occurs, one of the largest intermediaries in the electricity market of "Rusenergosbyt" which main owner is the businessman Grigory Berezkin, will lose an essential share of revenue, experts say. The Russian Railway buys the electric power through the company controlled by the businessman since two-thousand years. Berezkin is nearly ten years the board member of Russian Railways. News was commented by the managing partner of UK "Right and Business" Alexander Pakhomov: — Entry of the Russian Railway into the wholesale electricity market will allow to save essentially costs for consumption of electric energy to 5%. Complexity for the Russian Railway regarding participation in the wholesale electricity market was that objects of consumption of the company make a significant amount and are scattered across all territory of the Russian Federation. It is possible to assume that now in the Russian Railway solved an administration problem, will pass to purchases of the electric power in the wholesale market. — Whether it will turn out so that the Russian Railway should spend for administration more, than economy will make? — It is possible to assume that such calculations were made. I think, a marketing extra charge which, by different estimates, gives 5-6 billion rubles of economy for the Russian Railway, after all above, than own expenses on participation in the wholesale electricity market. Perhaps, the Russian Railway assumes to make uniform control center of this type of activity for the holding, at the expense of it economy when purchasing electric energy directly in the wholesale market is possible. — As far as will it strike on Rusenergosbyta? — I assume that for Rusenergosbyt it will be significant blow as will reduce the revenue of the company, by different estimates, to 50%. — They still have the same large customer? — They have still "KAMAZ", GAZ Group, but it constantly runs from some to others. The Russian Railway was a client, anchor for them. Completely the Russian Railway will not be able to refuse services of Rusenergosbyt till 2038 (till this time long-term contracts between the companies work). As notes Kommersant, only gradual decrease in volumes of purchases is possible. The director Fonda of power development Sergey Pikin says that process of transition of the Russian Railway to independent purchases of the electric power will not be fast: — It is necessary to understand that transition process not really simple. It will be necessary to perform all extradition operations, to re-register on itself all metering devices fixed now to the sales company. It can take not one year.
