Shinzo Abe plans to talk to Putin in Singapore on an ASEAN summit on November 13-15, and in 2019 during the visit of the Russian president to Japan on a G20 summit to put the end to a 70-year dispute between the countries. Now, according to the Japanese media, in Tokyo agree to confirm the joint declaration of 1956 where it is told that after signing a peace treaty Russia will transfer to Japan the island Shikotan and a number of the small desert islands of Lesser Kuril Ridge which in Japan call Hamobai. At the same time negotiations and on the most disputed islands — Iturup and Kunashir will be continued.
